We like to think of MSC as a Go! church. We believe that the mandate of Jesus compels us to our leave our comfort zones and get out into the community.
Some of our most recent Go! events have been the taking of our Sunday morning Celebration to the streets. We canceled our regular service on Sunday and had our service in Albuquerque's Old Town Square. This is one of Albuquerque's most historic spots and a place where lots of visitors come. We met there on Sunday, October 17th at 12:00pm for approximately an hour, worshippinp God and declaring his Glory.
Just recently we went to the streets giving away Free Stuff. On October 30th we gave away 100 free batteries for smoke alarms and small first aid kits. In addition we had coffee, cookies, hot chocolate and small gifts for the kids. It was a great time but we learned something... people are "leary" of free stuff. They think there are always strings attached but we did our best to just tell them we just wanted to be a blessing.
